Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being.

why is massage beneficial?

  • Massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension and increases in the number of lymphocytes, white blood cells that are part of the immune system, and a boost in the immune cells that may help fight colds and the flu.

  • Reduces stress and anxiety. It’s the position of the American Massage Therapy Association that “massage therapy with heat can be effective for stress relief.”

  • Promotes sleep. A 2006 literature review found massage may be an alternative to sleeping pills in adults with insomnia. Massage is thought to help you enjoy more restorative sleep, although it’s not completely understood why.

  • May help relieve symptoms of autoimmune diseases.

swedish aromatherapy massage

  • We combining Swedish massage techniques with the benefits of aromatherapy oils give a double action for relaxation of the body and mind.

  • The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart.

  • Aromatherapy essential oils deal with deeper muscle tension or mental and emotional stresses to help relax, detoxify and energise the whole body.

hot stone massage

The treatment uses the heat from basalt stones to both warm and relax the muscles allowing for a deeper pressure.

Main benefits can include:

  • Deeper state of relaxation

  • Increase in circulation and removal of toxins due to the combined heat and massage

  • Supports immune system

  • Quicker results for soothing muscular aches and pains

  • Increased sebum production which naturally moisturises the skin and therefore improves firming and toning effect on the body

  • Hot stone massage may relieve painful conditions such as fibromyalgia. A  2002 study, people with fibromyalgia who received a 30-minute massage slept longer, had fewer trigger points.

  • A 2013 study found that people with rheumatoid arthritis may benefit from a moderate-pressure massage, such as hot stone massage. Participants in the study experienced less pain, greater grip strength, and a greater range of motion after one month of massage therapy.
